INNOVATION PROPOSAL

NO-OK Satisfaction & Service Improvement System (NOSS)

A Problem-Focused Feedback System for Better Public and Customer Services

Proposed by: K. K. Gangadharan, Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India

1. Creative Idea / Suggestion

I propose a simple, problem-focused alternative to conventional customer satisfaction surveys. Instead of asking every customer to complete a rating survey, the system allows customers to report a problem only when they encounter one.

The concept is based on a simple principle: “No need to respond when everything is fine. If you find a problem, report it.”

2. How the System Works

GREEN — No Problem Reported

·         No compulsory feedback is required.

·         The system records that no problem has been reported.

·         This status must not be presented as confirmed 100% satisfaction.

RED — NOT OK: Report a Problem

·         Customers can report dissatisfaction through a QR code, sticker, mobile application, website, kiosk or telephone.

·         They select a reason, such as delay, poor quality, cleanliness, staff behaviour, equipment failure or technical problems.

·         The report is sent to the responsible organisation for investigation, corrective action and follow-up.

Optional satisfaction confirmation can be provided for organisations that need to measure actual customer satisfaction.

3. Example of Results

For 1,000 service users:

·         No problem reported: 900 users (90%).

·         Problem reported: 100 users (10%).

These figures represent reporting outcomes, not confirmed satisfaction levels. The total number of service users and reported problems should be published together.

4. Present Condition and Proposed Improvement

Traditional surveys often depend on customers actively selecting rating levels. Many people skip surveys because of limited time, low interest or the effort required.

NOSS aims to reduce this burden by making problem reporting quick and accessible. The organisation can also analyse recurring complaints to identify service deficiencies and prioritise improvements.

5. Applications

Potential applications include railway stations, airports, hospitals, government offices, public toilets, banks, schools, hotels, restaurants, online shopping, delivery services, lifts, escalators and public utilities.

For safety-critical problems, the system should immediately alert the responsible team and trigger the appropriate response.

6. Economic and Public Benefits

·         Less effort for customers.

·         Potential reduction in survey administration costs.

·         Faster identification of service problems.

·         Better maintenance planning and accountability.

·         Improved customer experience and public confidence.

·         Data-driven service improvements through complaint analysis.

7. Implementation

Begin with a pilot project at selected service locations. Install clearly visible NOT OK QR stickers and provide alternative reporting methods for people without smartphones. Track complaints, response times, corrective actions and repeat problems. Compare results with conventional surveys before wider implementation.

8. Strong Conclusion

“Listen to problems, not just ratings. Make reporting easy, take corrective action quickly, and turn every reported problem into an opportunity for improvement.”

I respectfully invite the relevant organisations to evaluate this proposal and consider a pilot implementation.

** SMART DELIVERY (POSTAL AND COURIER) AVAILABILITY INFO & DOOR-LOCK RESOLUTION SYSTEM An Innovative Approach to Customer-Friendly Delivery Services to reduce panic or tension situations

** SMART DELIVERY  (POSTAL AND COURIER) AVAILABILITY INFO & DOOR-LOCK RESOLUTION SYSTEM

An Innovative Approach to Customer-Friendly Delivery Services to reduce panic or tension situations

SMART DELIVERY AVAILABILITY & DOOR-LOCK RESOLUTION SYSTEM

An Innovative Approach to Customer-Friendly Delivery Services

Proposed by: K. K. Gangadharan, Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India

1. Subject

Introducing a digital system to prevent confusion, anxiety and unnecessary repeat delivery attempts when customers are unavailable at the time of delivery.

2. Present Problem

When an important delivery cannot be completed because the door is locked, customers may receive a notification without knowing where the article is, how to contact the delivery service, whether another attempt will occur or how long the article will be retained.

This creates unnecessary anxiety and additional work for customers and delivery organisations.

3. Creative Idea / Proposed Solution

Introduce a Smart Delivery Availability & Door-Lock Resolution System with five essential features:

1. Advance Availability: Customers select their preferred delivery date/time or indicate that they are generally available.

2. Automatic Door-Lock Alert: An unsuccessful delivery triggers an immediate notification explaining what happened.

3. Easy Resolution: Customers can request re-delivery, select another date, obtain collection instructions or contact the delivery service.

4. Clear Retention Information: Applicable retention periods, collection procedures and deadlines are communicated in advance.

5. Automatic Reminders: Customers receive appropriate reminders before relevant deadlines expire.

All communication should use secure organisational systems, protecting customer and delivery-person privacy.

4. Expected Benefits

Customers: Less anxiety, clearer instructions, convenient rescheduling and fewer unnecessary visits.

Delivery Personnel: Fewer repeat visits, improved route planning and reduced waiting time.

Businesses: Potential savings in fuel, manpower and operating costs, with improved delivery efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Government: More transparent, accessible, and customer-friendly public services.

5. Implementation

1.     Integrate the system with existing delivery-management software.

2.     Send expected delivery notifications with availability options.

3.     Record unsuccessful delivery attempts digitally.

4.     Provide automatic alerts and simple re-delivery/collection options.

5.     Send reminders and display applicable deadlines.

6.     Conduct a pilot project and evaluate results before wider implementation.

6. Potential Applications

India Post, registered/speed post services, passport/document delivery, banks, insurance companies, courier services, e-commerce, pharmacies, LPG distributors and other suitable delivery organisations.

Existing statutory, security and service-specific delivery rules must be followed.

7. Strong Conclusion

“A locked door should not become an information dead-end.”

Every unsuccessful delivery should automatically provide the customer with a clear next step.

This practical service innovation has the potential to reduce uncertainty, improve delivery efficiency, save resources, and strengthen public confidence. I recommend a pilot project to assess its feasibility and measurable benefits before wider adoption.

·         Promotional reach and potential new customers.

·         Opportunities to fund rewards in exchange for measurable campaign results.

IMPLEMENTATION PLAN

Phase 1: Pilot free data and recharge rewards.

Phase 2: Introduce family data transfers and QR-code referrals.

Phase 3: Expand to shopping vouchers and cinema-ticket discounts.

Phase 4: Evaluate performance and consider wider implementation.

ESSENTIAL SAFEGUARDS

·         Advertisements must be voluntary.

·         Rewards must follow verified campaign participation.

·         Daily limits and expiry conditions must be transparent.

·         Referral fraud and artificial advertisement views must be prevented.

·         Personal information must be protected.

·         Rewards must be financially sustainable and supported by advertising revenue, partner contributions or an approved promotional budget.

STRONG CONCLUSION

Why should an advertisement provide value only to the advertiser when it could also reward the customer?

Jio AdRewards proposes a system in which customer attention can generate advertising value that is shared through data, savings and promotional benefits.

Customer attention → Verified advertising engagement → Business revenue → Customer rewards → Greater loyalty and growth.

I recommend that Jio evaluate this concept through a controlled pilot programme, measure its profitability and customer acceptance, and expand it if successful.

JIO ADREWARDS: A NEW WAY TO WATCH, EARN, SHARE AND SAVE.
